Petitioning:
Additional candidates for any position may be nominated through written petition signed by not less than 10 percent of the total of professional, allied, and Industry Partner members of the chapter in good standing, provided such petition is received by the Chapter Administrator no later than 30 days after the names of the candidates have been submitted (deadline: December 31, 2009), and provided that such persons are eligible to hold the office for which they are being nominated.
Ballots:
ASID National recently changed their policies to allow Chapters to use an online balloting process. The Nebraska/Iowa Chapter ASID has, therefore, put into place a process to implement online balloting for the 2010 election.
On January 11, 2010, each member eligible to vote will be sent a postcard announcing that online balloting will begin January 15, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. CST and end at 5:00 p.m. CST on January 25, 2010. Eligible members must login to the website with their username and password, and can access the online ballot on this web page with a secure login during that time frame. The ballot can only be accessed once by an eligible member, so the member should be careful not to click the “Submit” button until they have completed the ballot. If you have not previously logged onto the Chapter website, you should do so now in preparation of the voting process. The default login is username FirstnameLastname (no spaces or punctuation) and password ASID. You will be prompted to change the password for security purposes, but you can also change the username. (Note: the login is different from National ASID’s website login.)
The postcard will also explain that a paper ballot may be requested in lieu of voting online. The paper ballot must be requested (via email, fax, phone or by mail) no later than January 15, and must be returned no later than January 25 (postmarked).
ELECTION RESULTS
Ballots must be completed electronically (by 5:00 p.m. CST) or postmarked and returned to the Chapter office no later than January 25, 2010. Results will be posted upon tabulation of the ballots.
